Dr Prajakta Dandekar is an adjunct ophthalmologist at Shantilal Shanghvi Eye Institute (SSEI). Before joining SSEI, she underwent 18 months of training in LVPEI in Cornea and anterior segment. She has served in the Indian Army Medical Corps for 14 years, in various field areas -north and northeast sectors of India along with the soldiers and their families. She was also a qualified para jumper and received the Chief of Army Staff commendation card while in service. She has a keen interest towards Ophthalmology especially cornea and anterior segment. She has to her credit PubMed-indexed publications in peer-reviewed Indian and International Journals. She believes in serving the nation in all ways possible and is very soft-spoken and patient-caring. She likes to keep herself updated about modern technological advances in the field. She enjoys many extracurricular activities like painting, wildlife photography etc at leisure.
