Our expert team specializes in treating all types of cataracts and we offer the highest quality of care, from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up

WHAT IS A CATARACT?

Inside our eyes, we have a natural lens that helps us see by bending light rays. However, when the lens becomes cloudy, it is known as a cataract. Although there are other risk factors for cataracts, ageing is the most common cause.

Most cases of age-related cataracts tend to develop gradually. However, in other rare cases, the cataracts may develop quickly either due to the younger age of the patient or because of an underlying condition like diabetes.

WHEN TO SEEK HELP?

Knowing when to seek help for cataracts is important for maintaining good eye health. While most age-related cataracts develop gradually, there are still signs and symptoms that you should be aware of. If you experience any of the following vision changes, it may be time to make an appointment for an eye exam:

  • Blurry vision
  • Seeing double
  • Increased sensitivity to light
  • Difficulty seeing or reading at night
  • Seeing bright colours as faded or yellowish
