A 71-year-old patient came to SSEI with sudden vision loss and pain following cataract surgery done elsewhere. He was diagnosed with acute post-surgical endophthalmitis — a serious eye infection.
With timely vitreoretinal surgery by @eyedoc_sayali (Faculty – Retina and ROP Services) and guided antibiotic therapy supported by our microbiology lab, his vision improved from only hand movements to 20/30 in just one month.
This case highlights the importance of early diagnosis and immediate treatment in preserving vision.
