Case History

A 10-year-old boy from a Mumbai slum was brought to the Shantilal Shanghvi Eye Institute. His mother had noticed a white reflex in the black region of his right eye for about three months, but the treatment was delayed. The child had no other ocular or systemic health issues. Upon examination, he was diagnosed with a unilateral developmental cataract in his right eye, while his left eye was normal.

Treatment

To restore the boy's vision, he underwent cataract surgery under general anesthesia. Using state-of-the-art equipment, our team of highly skilled ophthalmologists performed the procedure and implanted a high-quality intraocular lens.
